The loaded prices of half term ski holidays sold by tour operators and many ski resorts is a bone of contention and frustration with thousands of skiers and would be skiers. We can categorically say that this isn’t an issue in Abruzzo. Unless half term week coincides with Carnival Week – and even then the effect is minimal – the UK February half term week is just another week on the Abruzzo ski calendar.
Here is an an example of a 7 night holiday during half term week, staying at the Hotel Il Lavatoio, Castel di Sangro, with airport transfers from Naples or Pescara:
7 nights, bed and buffet breakfast, sharing a double room, with airport transfers: €350/£275
7 nights dinner in Castel di Sangro €105/£75
6 days ski pass Roccaraso €193/£140
6 days skis, sticks and boots €60/£45
Total = €708/£535
Allowing £150 for a flight to Naples or Pescara from the UK, the total would be approx. £685 and the dinner price above is for a three course meal at Ristorante Il Rifugio, Castel di Sangro including mineral water and a glass of wine.
Roccaraso is Italy’s fifth biggest ski resort and we think prices such as these are hard to beat.
